Part-Time Circulation Assistant

Under general supervision, oversees circulation desk and
responsibilities associated with the position including checking books in
and out, shelving, collecting fees, processing holds, and answering
patron questions about the library collection. The successful candidate
may be required to assist at other branches as needed.

Schedule/Shifts

This position is part-time. Up to 19 hours per week.
This position includes some evening and weekend hours.

Shift Availablity

This position requires availability to work
Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
The successful candidate will work closely with their direct supervisor
to create their final working schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and knowledge
of library automation and computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the minimum qualifications)

• Prior library experience strongly preferred.
• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited
college or university.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good organizational and filing skills.
• Ability to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.

Physical Demands

The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium
weight, up to 25 pounds. The ability to speak clearly, hear, and
understand at a normal conversational level is required. Work is
typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting,
standing, or walking in various settings. Full range of hand and finger
motion is required for data entry purposes.

Salary/Benefits

$8.50 per hour

Under general supervision, oversees reference desk and
responsibilities associated with position including answering
patron questions about library collection, GALILEO, and
computer troubleshooting. Assists patrons of all ages, including
after school students, with research. The successful candidate
may be required to assist at other branches as needed.

This position is part-time. Up to 19 hours per week.
This position includes some evening and weekend hours.
