The System is a partner in the community as it encourages and supports literacy. Here are a list of our official collaborations and partnerships:
Campus Club Milledgeville
Campus Club Milledgeville (CCM), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is a year-round arts & enrichment center designed to serve the millennial generation ages 8-26. Their services are free. As a partner we provide program advertisement as well as academic research resources. We have program applications available on-site. For more information on Campus Club Milledgeville visit their website or call 478-387-0200.
Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services (GLASS)
Through the Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services (GLASS), Georgia’s Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and cooperating local libraries, Georgians have access to a free national library program that offers books and magazines on cassette tape and in Braille. These materials are provided by the Library of Congress, National Library Service for the Blind & Physically Handicapped (NLS), to eligible persons with a visual or physical disability. All reading material and playback equipment is sent to borrowers and returned by postage-free mail.
Oconee River Greenway Partnership
The Oconee River Greenway Foundation (ORGF) is a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and funds to support the Oconee River Greenway. The Oconee River Greenway Park and Riverwalk provides the city of Milledgeville and Baldwin County with a safe and beautiful area to walk, jog, bicycle, relax and enjoy the beauty and sounds of the Oconee River. The Greenway offers multiple individual fishing stations and a boat ramp as well as multi-use trails. Most importantly, the Greenway helps to protect middle Georgia’s greatest resource, the Oconee River, for future generations. For more information on The Oconee River Greenway visit their website.
The Green Market
The Twin Lakes Library System cares about the community’s health! That’s why we’ve partnered with the Green Market to provide Milledgeville/Baldwin County with informational events and fundraisers, as well as cross-promotion for all of our events. The Green Market, a local sustainable farmers market features vegetables, fruit, meat, bread, preserves and plants.
The Green Market meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at the Milledgeville Pavilion (next to Golden Pantry), April-November. The library has an “open door policy” to set up a table at the Green Market anytime, free of charge. In exchange, the library handles all of the printing for The Green Market’s flyers and promotional materials.
